Bilal Akkawy, the 25-year-old Australian super middleweight and a competing accomplice for Canelo Alvarez, will allegedly fight on the Canelo-Jacobs card on May 4 in Las Vegas.

Akkawy (19-0-1, 15 KO) worked with Alvarez before Canelo’s rematch with Gennady Golovkin a year ago, and is back in his camp again for the Jacobs fight.

He talks exceptionally of working with Alvarez and coach Swirl Reynoso:

“It’s a great satisfaction when someone like that — one of the biggest names in boxing — acknowledges your talent. It’s an incredible inclination, it’s a monstrous certainty sponsor. You feel like all your diligent work over each one of those years — like the last six, seven years — it sort of like, ‘Okay, it’s begun to satisfied.’ In any event somebody recognizes it.”

Akkawy is positioned in the main 10 by the WBA and IBF, and is wanting to get a title shot. He went to the U.S. for a couple of fight in 2018, beating Cristian Olivas on the Thursday before Canelo-GGG II, and after that Victor Fonseca on the Canelo-Fielding undercard on Dec. 15. He also scored a success over previous WBA auxiliary titleholder Giovanni de Carolis in Feb. 2018 in Australia.

Canelo Alvarez and Daniel Jacobs will meet May 4 in a middleweight title unification fight in Las Vegas.

Advertisers reported Wednesday that Alvarez, the Mexican star who beat Gennady Golovkin in September, will Fight Jacobs in a scheduled 12-round fight at the T-Mobile Arena to bring together the greater part of the real middleweight titles. The fight will be disclosed on the streaming service DAZN, which recently signed Alvarez to a long-term deal.

Alvarez (51-1-2, 35 knockouts) is coming back to the middleweight division in the wake of venturing up in weight Dec.15 to stop Rocky Fielding in a 168-pound title bout. He customarily fight in Las Vegas over the Cinco de Mayo weekend, and this will be his fifth fight in the Strip arena that is home to the Golden Knights hockey group.

Jacobs, who lost a tight choice to Golovkin in 2017, has won each of the three of his fight since, incorporating a split choice in October over Sergiy Derevyanchenko for a vacant piece of the 160-pound title. Jacobs, who lives in Brooklyn, is 35-2 with 29 knockouts.

WBA and WBC middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez and IBF middleweight champ Daniel Jacobs are set to bind together three-fourths of the titles in the division on May 4. On Monday, the ticket costs and sale date for the event were declared.
